Damit k\u00f6nnen 100 Patienten mit Hand- oder Armprothesen versorgt werden. Ein Bericht zum Projekt folgt in K\u00fcrze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pandemie bedingte Herausforderungen<\/strong><br>Die Corona-Pandemie hat Uganda hart getroffen. Viele Menschen \u00fcberstanden die Krankheit nicht, nur wenige wurden geimpft. Unser Projekt-Koordinator vor Ort, Mr. Peter Owori, ist nach langer Krankheit wieder fast vollst\u00e4ndig genesen und konnte die Arbeit im Zentrum wieder aufnehmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Engagement trotz harter Bedingungen<\/strong><br>Die Arbeit im St. Joseph Orthop\u00e4dischen Zentrum ist weiterhin schwierig: Viele Patienten haben kein Einkommen, um einen Beitrag zur Behandlung zu leisten, w\u00e4hrend die Betriebskosten weiterlaufen. Die Orthop\u00e4den arbeiten gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils ehrenamtlich und finanzieren oft selbst einen Teil der Kosten. Der Bedarf an Prothesen bleibt hoch.
