Beim Besuch im Herbst 2018 war sichtbar, wie viel sich getan hat: Neue Behandlungsr\u00e4ume, ein Raum f\u00fcr die Prothesenanpassung und gepflegte Au\u00dfenanlagen zeigen den Fortschritt. Die verschifften Hilfsmittel aus Deutschland sind nun im Einsatz. Auch das neue Geb\u00e4ude nahe dem Iganga-Hospital bietet mehr Raum \u2013 nicht nur f\u00fcr Behandlung und Werkstatt, sondern auch f\u00fcr die Unterbringung von Patienten, die von weit herkommen. Noch fehlen M\u00f6bel und Ausstattung, aber das Team arbeitet motiviert an der weiteren Verbesserung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Viele angeborene Fehlstellungen werden aus Scham oder Aberglauben nicht behandelt. Das Zentrum geht dagegen aktiv vor: Mit \u201eFu\u00df-Wochen\u201c in umliegenden D\u00f6rfern kl\u00e4rt das Team \u00fcber Ursachen und Behandlungsm\u00f6glichkeiten auf. Neben Orthop\u00e4die und Physiotherapie bietet St. Joseph nun auch allgemeinmedizinische Leistungen an. Mit unserer Unterst\u00fctzung ist zudem der Aufbau eines Labors und einer R\u00f6ntgenabteilung geplant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Polio-Sp\u00e4tfolgen und Fehlstellungen Viele \u00e4ltere Menschen in Uganda leiden unter den Folgen einer Poliomyelitis im Kindesalter. Dank unserer Unterst\u00fctzung k\u00f6nnen im St. Joseph Orthop\u00e4diezentrum nun bessere Schienen und Prothesen angepasst werden, die die Beweglichkeit verbessern.
